As we step into a new year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on 2025—a year defined by movement, community, and growth. At pickUP, our mission has always been about more than just getting from point A to point B; it’s about uplifting the people who keep Barbados moving.
From supporting our drivers’ livelihoods to making transportation more inclusive, here are the highlights that defined our year.
Driving Support for Our Partners
Our drivers are the heart of our service. This year, we prioritized their success through strategic local partnerships: We secured a 20% discount on tires and batteries for our drivers, helping them reduce maintenance costs and stay safe on the road. Moreover, we collaborated with Payce Digital to offer pre-approved credit to over 200 taxi drivers, providing them with the capital needed to invest in and grow their own small businesses.
Making Barbados More Accessible
We believe everyone deserves reliable transport. In 2025, we took a major step toward total inclusivity by launching our Differently-Abled category in-app. In collaboration with Blessed Rentals and the Barbados Council for the Disabled, we are ensuring that mobility is a right, not a privilege.
Community First: Blood Donation & Beyond
Giving back is part of our DNA. During International Blood Donation Week, we teamed up with PwC East Caribbean and the National Blood Collection Centre to provide free rides to all donors. It was our way of saying “thank you” to those saving lives across the island.
The Human Touch
As we grow, we remain committed to real, local support. This year, we welcomed six new team members to the pickUP family. This expansion ensures that whether you are behind the wheel or in the backseat, you always have a human touch when you need help.
